Simple. Noelle went first, followed by Eloise, then me and then Rosa. The door was only open a crack so we had to move quickly and quietly, trying to fit through the crack as best we could, otherwise, we ran the risk of hitting him and waking him up. I'm fairly certain Rosa hit him on the had just to spite him, I wish I had the confidence to do that lol We went through both of the doors and out into the open space/foyer area. At the left end of the area was one of the male teacher's rooms. I remember frantically knocking on the door, still being careful to not wake the man or anyone else up, but no teacher ever answered. So we kinda just stood there, in the middle of the open area, freaking out, crying ourselves a river. Looking back I feel kinda stupid but I can't change the past lol Then all of the teachers on the trip came out of a corridor, talking quietly. Obviously, seeing us sobbing, seeing me and Noelle collapsed on the floor in a breakdown, was not what they had to expected to see that night.
Certainly not enough to merit 117 minutes. But even stripped down to ninety minutes, this wouldn't be a good movie. It's an odd relic of its time, but it doesn't really even serve that purpose particularly well. I'm now slightly curious to see if Tarzan, the Ape-Man and Greystoke were executed as badly. Given that John Derek directed one of them, I have to assume that one is awful for reasons completely outside the scope of the story. Got halfway through before realizing Sheena is Midge from "That 70's Show! " I knew her voice sounded familiar! Sheena rides a zebra 🦓 (actually a small horse painted to look like a zebra) wears thick eye makeup and has a psychic connection with the African wildlife, so she's kind of a badass. Naturally, the film tries for romance but the leads don't really have much chemistry so it felt extremely forced. This has a lot going for it, though. Takes a bit to get going but once it does you get Action! Explosions! Insane stunts! Plus they actually filmed in Kenya so the setting is gorgeous and features plenty of wild kitties, monkeys, rhinos and even elephants!
