Young is not a… Was hoping for Korean Inland Empire, got a muddled mess that wasted Lee Joon a bit all over the place, but really interesting Written and Produced by Kim Ki Duk but directed by Shin Yeon Shik who admittedly doesn't like KKD's style, ROUGH PLAY struggles to find a balance between symbolic and narrative focus resulting in a mishmash that succeeds at neither.

I wonder why the director, who is a screenwriter who sometimes directs his own scripts, agreed to this project. Asked in the Q&A if he would do it again, his response was a definite "no", leading me to believe that he isn't happy with the finished result either. Which is a distinct shame, because MBLAQ's Lee Joon is really quite talented. He took home a Best New Actor award for his efforts. I look forward to seeing more of his acting work.
