Synopsis Eleven year-old Akeelah Anderson's life is not easy: her father is dead, her mom ignores her, her brother runs with the local gangbangers. She's smart, but her environment threatens to strangle her aspirations. Claire Danes spielt großartig, Schwarzenegger ist immer noch in Topform und die Story ist eine würdige Fortführung der Geschichte. Einzig kleinere Logikfehler und manchmal etwas zu plump geratene Momente sorgen für Abstriche, aber das ist verschmerzbar. Auch etwas mehr Komplexität und Laufzeitlänge hätten dem Film gut getan! Etwas schade ist es, dass Linda Hamilton als Sarah Connor nicht mehr dabei ist. Dass John Connor nun nicht mehr von Edward Furlong sondern, von Nick Stahl verkörpert wird passt allerdings zur Entwicklung des Charakters innerhalb der Story. Connor wird hier nämlich als Mensch mit Schwächen dargestellt, der erst durch die Unterstützung starker Begleiter zum Anführer aufsteigen kann! Die damalige Kritik an Kristanna Loken als böse Terminatrix kann ich nicht ganz nachvollziehen. Als kybernetische Lebensform, die darauf programmiert wurde möglichst effizient Ziele auszuschalten, bedarf es keiner besonderen Rhetorik. Im Gegenteil entspricht ihre stille und praktische Vorgehensweise genau dem, was man von einer Maschine mit künstlicher Intelligenz erwarten würde.
