I first saw it on VHS many years ago, and have watched it several times since. The Criterion Collection edition is flawlessly restored, and a new soundtrack taking the glitches out of it. Sometimes I want to give it one star, and other times 4 stars. There is a lot of nudity (young people), but it is neither erotic nor pornographic. There is a lot of sadomasochism, to be expected considering the source. But the camera doesn't really go in close, nor does the viewer have an opportunity to get to know any of the victims. It is not pornographic, since there is no excitement at what one sees. It is dehumanizing. The premise is rather simple. 4 depraved fascists get a collection of young men and women (really, more like girls and boys) and let them know they are totally at the mercy of the situation, and no one will ever know they are there.
